Functional Audit Supervisor

The FCA Quality organization is currently seeking a solutions-oriented Functional Audit Supervisor to join the Quality team at the Dundee Engine Plant in Dundee, MI. The Functional Audit Supervisor will report to the Resident Engineering Manager and is responsible for process audits, test and floor audits and provide technical expertise to hourly and manufacturing salary personnel. In addition, the incumbent will lead, develop and maintain quality systems that support the daily manufacturing operations to meet product and process quality metrics and World Class Manufacturing (WCM) by working closely with Business Unit Leader s Team Members, Team Leaders, Technical Support Specialists and Quality Support Specialists.

Specific Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Audit daily product performance and product conformity and audits on internal process, functional audit team, all internal process audits, etc.
  • Support WCM goals and kaizen continuous improvement activities
  • Enthusiastically lead, support and contribute to DEP s World Class Manufacturing (WCM) Program and tools
  • Support Lot Release Status discussion daily and priority setting of Quality Resources to support out bound shipments at zero risk to the customer
  • Supervise and manage schedules of hourly Functional Audit Quality Team members (5 hourly)
  • Lead the plant s warranty autopsy group and analysis to identify all issues with systemic bucketing for attack via various focused approach WCM tools (Material, Plant, Design, Calibration issues)
  • Actively manage warranty returns and autopsy process. Up to and including daily claim triage and input to various focused approach WCM tool
  • Develop and implement processes that support and maintain Quality Mandates and Metrics
  • Develop, maintain, and sustain containment and quarantine processes, and management of release or rework processes as it pertains to part Quality
  • Contribute and delegate resources toward the continuous improvement of Quality related processes and achievement of KPI indicators in order to reach agreed upon targets
  • Lead and/or support the use of Kaizens for major quality issues arising from Gauging, Production, Control Plans, Dimensional Issues, and Quality Check Routes, Leak Test, Cold Test Defect Mapping, Functional / Dynamometer non-conformances
  • Provide processes and systems to provide timely feedback to Manufacturing Operations on problems identified for actions to be taken quickly to address Quality issues immediately
  • Direct the Quality team on Quality related processes, develop and provide systems for them to operate
  • Facilitate meetings between various functions including Manufacturing Operations, Production Control, Manufacturing Engineering (Technical Support Specialists), Resident Engineering, Finance, to arrive at dispositions that impact Product Quality
  • Coordinate daily with SQA, 3rd party service providers, Production Control and Manufacturing Operations for containment and mitigation work of perceived quality risks
  • Audit Quality related processes including, but not limited to; functional audit, torque auditing processes, and Quality Management Audits
  • Quality reporting to the plant and corporation, communicate to the plant floor on Quality KPI s and top issues, establish plans and glide paths for KPI goal attainment, etc. (Daily shift letters/report out and status on focused approach projects)
  • Participate in Safety related concerns and Safety Meetings; lead by example and respect Safety as your #1 priority
  • Participate in determining Quality Training for production with the PD Pillar and Training Manager
  • Actively participate in DEP s employee suggestion program Innovation by Suggestion

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in Quality in a manufacturing facility
  • Formal Quality Systems management training/knowledge
  • Ability to work well in cross functional teams and be able to coordinate communications between various organizations
  • Ability to collect and synthesize data into information and communicate clearly to all levels of management for immediate action and decision
  • Exceptional PC Skills including Lotus Notes, and G Suite Applications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Chemical Engineering
  • Experience with UPS system and MPTS systems
  • Familiar with CMM programming and maintenance, Production Gauging systems, GD&T, SPC, MQAS (ISO9001 / 14001), PSO, and PPAP
  • Experience in powertrain manufacturing
  • Prior knowledge of warranty analysis

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
