Quality Manager

, an affiliate of Plastipak Packaging, is offering an exciting opportunity for a Quality Manager who isself-motivated, has a passion for sustainability, and making a significant contribution to one of North America's leadingrecyclers.
In this role, you will plan, coordinate, and direct the quality control program designed to ensure continuous production ofproducts consistent with established standards by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.
- Directs the activities and scheduling of Quality Technicians to assure proper testing and timeliness of data and reports aremaintained.
- Develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and established proposedquality and reliability expectation of finished product.
- Formulates and maintains quality control objectives and translates objectives into production procedures in cooperation withother plant managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
- Maintains the Quality Management System per ISO 9001:
2008 standard.
- Updating documents, work instructions, procedure manuals.
- Reporting and maintaining the Non Conformance reports for the operation- Following up on the Corrective Preventive Action reports.
- Conducting Management Review Meetings at a regular interval.
- Manages and contact person for Internal and External Audits for Quality, ISO and Food Safety.
- In cooperation with production supervisors directs workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuouscontrol over materials, facilities, and products.
- Plans, promotes, and organizes training activities related to product quality and reliability.
- Investigates customer complaints.
Analyze failure, and respond with corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintains a program for instrument calibration.
- Develop training to build quality awareness and continuous improvement.
Skills/Qualifications- Bachelor's degree from four year college or university; one or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalentcombination of education and experience.
- Strong background in analytical lab practices for both chemical and polymer methods.
- Strong written communication skills as demonstrated by testing, transcripts, or other designated methods.
- Experience in ISO, Quality Management Systems, 5S, and Lean manufacturing.
- Root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action to processes.
- Instrument calibration skills as verified by OJT demonstration.
- Understand operation of GCMS and other Lab equipment with the ability to interpret test results to assure product quality.
- Willingness to travel when required.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office applications.
- Submit to and pass drug screen test (new hire or promotion).

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
