We have an opportunity for you! We are currently hiring for an evening custodian/stock handler.
To be eligible for this part-time job that requires 4 hours of work per night, you must be available from 7 PM until 11 PM, 5-6 days a week, which may include some weekends.
Please be aware this role involves alternating between BP Gas Station and Dairy Queen Dundee (which are situated next to each other) to provide assistance at both establishments throughout the shift.
Job Description:
Stock Handling may include (but not limited to):
You must be able to remain on your feet throughout the entire shift and lift up to 50lb.
Unload incoming merchandise, ensuring accurate counts and verifying against purchase orders or delivery manifests.
Organize and arrange stock items on shelves, racks, or designated storage areas, utilizing appropriate labeling and categorization techniques.
Monitor inventory levels and identify low stock items, promptly notifying the supervisor or purchasing department to initiate reordering process.
Perform regular stock rotation to ensure older products are displayed or used first, minimizing spoilage or obsolescence.
Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of stock areas, including sweeping, mopping, and removing any packaging materials or debris.
Assist in conducting regular inventory audits and reconciling physical stock counts with computerized records, identifying and investigating any discrepancies.
Collaborate with sales clerk to fulfill stock requests or locate specific items for customers, ensuring efficient and accurate order fulfillment.
Follow proper procedures for handling and disposing of damaged or expired products, adhering to relevant health and safety regulations.
Monitor and report any issues or maintenance needs related to stock equipment, shelving, or storage areas to the appropriate department.
Custodian Duties may include (but not limited to):
Thoroughly clean and sanitize all surfaces in the kitchen, including countertops, food preparation areas, and cooking equipment, following established cleaning procedures.
Wash dishes, utensils, and cooking tools either by hand or using dishwashing equipment, ensuring proper sanitation and cleanliness.
Clean and disinfect the restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors, maintaining a high standard of hygiene and appearance.
Sweep, mop, and vacuum all floors to remove debris, spills, and any other dirt or grime, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
Empty and properly dispose of trash and recycling bins, replacing liners as needed to maintain cleanliness and sanitation.
Wipe down and sanitize tables, chairs, and other customer seating areas, providing a pleasant and hygienic dining environment.
Clean windows, glass surfaces, and entry doors to ensure a clean and welcoming appearance.
Restock cleaning supplies and notify the supervisor of any low inventory to ensure availability for future cleaning tasks.
Follow all health and safety regulations and guidelines while performing cleaning duties, including the proper use and handling of cleaning chemicals.
Perform routine cleaning tasks, such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming, to maintain cleanliness and orderliness of assigned areas.
Empty trash receptacles, replace liners, and properly dispose of waste materials following established protocols.
Clean windows, glass surfaces, mirrors, and other fixtures, ensuring a streak-free and polished appearance.
Replenish restroom supplies, such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper, as needed to ensure availability for users.
Clean and maintain common areas, including hallways, lobbies, or other rooms, to provide a clean and welcoming environment.
Report any maintenance or repair needs observed during cleaning duties to the appropriate department or supervisor.
Operate and maintain cleaning equipment, such as vacuum cleaners, and carpet cleaners, ensuring proper usage and storage.
Assist with occasional special cleaning projects or tasks, such as deep cleaning, or furniture rearrangement, as directed by the supervisor.
