This role will report to the plant materials manager and ideally seeks someone with 3
years of material planning, shipping analyst or shipping supervisor type experience.
Primary responsibilities include:
Manages all day-to-day transportation activities Coordinates all freight from suppliers Manages material handling and warehousing operations Work actively on cost reductions, cost avoidance and obtaining improved shipment efficiency Work directly with suppliers to set up shipments and determines the shipment methods Produces daily/weekly/monthly Transportation reports as required Reviews all carrier invoices to ensure rates are in line with agreements Supports materials to manage all packaging requirements Runs reports, analyzes results, and makes adjustments as needed Works with the shipping departments to schedule inbound and outbound shipments Ensures plant has appropriate packaging in terms of type and quantity, guaranteeing uninterrupted delivery of products ordered by customers Optimization of packaging flow Reviewing fleet size and communicating shortages to customers/suppliers Reviewing damaged containers and working with customers to pick up/replace Inventory control of all packaging Updating customer portals daily with our inventory levels and what was received/shipped Creating/updating all packaging instructions High School equivalency and ideally seeks someone with 3
years of material planning, shipping analyst or shipping supervisor type experience.
Shift schedule will be 2pm to 11 pm.
Position is overtime pay eligible and also annual bonus available.
